Frequently Asked Questions
Many of our patients have been to other providers before finding solutions here at Oasis. There is a wide range of experience and skill in pelvic health. Come experience the difference.
Do I need a referral from my physician?
No! Maryland is a direct access state, so no referral is needed. After the evaluation, if it is determined that we are not the right provider, then you will be directed appropriately.
I’ve tried pelvic therapy before, what makes Oasis different?
We specialize exclusively in pelvic health. Our therapists maintain high standards of care, are trained by world-renowned pelvic floor therapists, and work as a team with regular skills labs.
Our signature method has helped thousands like you; many people have tried other clinics. With one-on-one hourly appointments, you will be seen, heard, and supported!
Is an internal exam necessary?
No! The internal evaluation helps determine the causes and diagnose any pelvic issues you might be having. However, this will only be performed with your consent and comfort. If you would prefer to wait until a future session or not at all, we are totally fine and will adjust.
How many pelvic therapy sessions do I need?
Each person and lifestyle is different and will require a uniquely designed treatment plan. Of course, your commitment to rehabilitation is key! After your initial evaluation, together we will
discuss your plan, considering your situation and availability. Most feel better in a few sessions, but more are typically needed to train and truly live without the same symptoms again.
What should I expect at the first pelvic therapy session?
At the first visit, your medical history, lifestyle, goals, and symptom patterns will be reviewed. A comprehensive, whole-body movement exam will be performed to determine all possible contributing causes. This typically involves an external screen and, if indicated, per your consent and comfort, an internal pelvic floor exam. If you prefer not to, or want to delay, an internal exam, it is not a problem. Together, a plan of care will be developed based upon your condition and personal goals.
Are you a provider for my health insurance?
Oasis is an out-of-network clinic. We are also NOT Medicare or Medicaid providers. All rehab services are covered under commercial out-of-network PT insurance benefits. Payment is due at the time of service using HSA, FSA, or Credit/Debit Cards. A superbill will be provided for your self-submission of reimbursement.

Do you use machines, kegel chairs, or stimulation in pelvic floor therapy?
No, we do not! We believe your pelvic floor needs to move as dynamically as you do. Machines, e-stim, and Kegel chairs often don’t provide functional outcomes. Instead, we take a full-body approach and use techniques to allow you to see, feel, assess, and implement function of the pelvic floor muscles. Our personalized, hands-on therapy ensures the best long-term results for your pelvic health.
