About Oasis PT
Holistic, Compassionate, Highly Skilled

Meet the Founder
Sonya Worthy Okolo, PT is a native of Asheville, NC. As a graduate of University of Maryland – Baltimore, she has over 25 years of experience and loves what she does! Using a holistic model, she provides one-on-one physical therapy service that is evidence-based addressing the “drivers” of symptoms to provide solutions to your concerns.
After her own (O.A.S.I.S.) birth trauma, an interest was sparked in Pelvic Floor PT and maternal health care. She dreamed of better for herself and others…a place of ease, prevention, and recovery. Sonya has advanced pelvic specialty skills that can address pelvic pain, bladder, bowel, mechanical fertility challenges, and sexual health problems. And, via our Birth Support service, a spectrum of care is available from pre-conception, pregnancy, postpartum & beyond.
Sonya has a multi-system skill set that includes functional & sports-specific training, advanced manual therapy including Visceral Mobilization, Myofascial Release, and Instrument-assisted Soft Tissue & Joint Mobilization. In 2016, she began specializing exclusively in pelvic health. She has extensive postgraduate pelvic training from The Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehab Institute and has learned from some of the greatest leaders in pelvic health field.
Increasing research shows the mind-body connection supports an integrative approach to rehab. Sonya is a strong believer in collaboration of care working with other healthcare providers, birth workers, and therapists. Born out of personal experience, Oasis offers a safe, nurturing environment with a whole-body focus from a trauma informed perspective.
